Two Events on New Year's Day

                  Grindstone Trail Hike -Thursday, Jan. 1st  – 1:00 p.m. – Pilot Mountain State Park Office Parking Lot


Meet with a park ranger at Park Office to depart on a hike of the Grindstone Trail. The length of this trail is 3.3 miles one way - 6.6 round trip. Feel free to visit the Little Pinnacle Overlook to enjoy one of the best views in Surry County!

  $20 Registration includes an exclusive Event Toboggan/Snoogin hat, unlimited warm food (Chili, Chicken Stew, Hot Dogs, Hot Cocoa), & Prize for best plunge attire.  We will have a DJ playing music afterward and a bonfire.  We challenge you to take the PLUNGE into the Lake with us on New Year's Day at Hanging Rock State Park.  The event is from 1-3 with the plunge taking place at 2pm. Ages 14 and up. If under 18 must have consent of parent or guardian.  Lifeguards will be on duty.
