Sunset Eclipse Viewing at Pilot Mountain

Thursday, October 23, 5:30pm – 7:00pm

Join a Park Ranger and members of Forsyth Astronomical Society between 5:30-7:00 p.m. to view a partial solar eclipse at the Summit Parking Lot of Pilot Mountain State Park! We will be gathered toward the southern end of the parking lot and would love for you to come and enjoy such an amazing event as the Sun makes it’s way below the horizon during this eclipse.

Remember the only way to view the sun is to do it SAFELY! DO NOT look directly at the sun with your naked eyes, even during a partial eclipse. Less than 1 percent of the visible sun is still 4,000 times brighter than the full moon.

Starts at: 5:30 p.m.  Meet at: Summit Area Parking Lot
