“Fishtrap Hike”

Meet at the end of the road at the north river section for a hike into the Yadkin River. We’ll wade over to the river islands, visit a Native American fish trap and talk about the Tutelo Indians that lived along the Yadkin within what is now the park. If water levels are high and muddy, the hike will still take place along the river but the wading portion will be omitted. This portion of the Yadkin is knee to waist deep on most adults at normal water levels. This hike is moderate in ability level and will take approximately 1.5 hours. Lifejackets will be required and provided by the park. Please sign up in advance by calling the park office at 336-325-2355
