Fall Bird Walk and The Science of Fall Color

Pilot Mountain State Park - Sunday, October 26

        Fall bird walk - 8:30 am - 10:30 am - Meet with a park ranger at the Summit Area display board to embark on a bird walk to look for early winter migrants. We will be hiking along the Little Pinnacle Overlook and portions of the Jomeokee Trail and Grindstone Trail. Please bring your own binoculars, footwear adequate for hiking, and water. This program is subject to cancellation during adverse weather conditions. Starts at: 8:30 a.m.  Meet at: Summit Parking Lot

                                                              
The Science of Fall Color - 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm - Do you love the fall? Visiting the park to experience the colors of autumn? Ever wonder why some leaves turn orange when others turn red, blue, or yellow? Meet with a Park Ranger to learn about the natural mystery of why our leaves change different colors and leave appreciating autumn color with a whole new outlook! Starts at: 2:00 p.m. Meet at: Summit Parking Lot.
